It was a natural progression for Amie to turn her love and passion for dogs into a career.

Amie started Sit Stay Walkies in 2006. A professional dog walking service that provided personalised attention and care to each dog. Amie gained extensive hands-on experience and invaluable insight into canine behaviour from walking so many different dogs.

In 2010 Amie rescued Poppy, a three-year-old Boxer dog. Poppy had not been socialised properly and just the sight of other dogs would cause a negative reaction from her. Amie wanted to understand more about canine behaviour and how dogs learn so that she could change Poppies' behaviour and feelings towards other dogs.

It was Poppy that started Amies’ successful career in dog training.

Amie qualified as a dog trainer with distinction in 2013, the next logical step was to launch Sit Stay Training. Amie has been through strict assessment processes with extensive written and practical exams. Amie is a proud member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), The Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), The Pet Professional Guild (PPGBI), UK Sniffer Dogs and part of the UK Training & Behaviour Charter, which is a collaboration between all of the largest and most ethical dog training bodies in the UK.

Amie continues her education in dog training and behaviour with plenty of courses and seminars, staying up to date and gaining as much information as possible so she can provide the very best training, care, and advice for the dogs and owners that she helps.
